IBL + VLV Championships Multievents, Feldkirch 6./7.5.2000:

 At the Decathlon both favorites Thomas and Markus Walser did not finish the event.
The conditions were not very good (headwind and rain) and they didn´t start with good results. Only Thomas equaled his PR in the High Jump. So they decided to quit and start at the Pentathlon in Lienz two weeks later.
Markus threw a new PR at the same meeting in the open Javelin. In April Thomas set also new PRs in the shot put (14,66) and the Long Jump (6,90).
At the womens event Bianca Dürr started in her first Heptathlon since August 1998. But she also quit after day 1, because she got botherd by an old injury again.
