Mandl Heiko
Date/Place of birth: 18.12.1970 Leoben
He had a long way of training to his first +7000 score. As a young Athlete he trained at a stadium in Eisenerz, where they had just a 100-meter straight track, and no pole vault pit. When he started to study sports he moved to Graz and trained with Horst Mandl. Later he decided to go his own way in training. As a junior he was a good long and high jumper. Now his best events are the javelin and shot put, and his worst became the high jump because of continuous problems in his ankle. In the winter of 2000/2001 he had sugery to get rid of the problems. In 2001 he did not finish a Decathlon.
