Weiler Thomas
Date/Place of birth: 18.3.1978 Innsbruck
He improved very fast as a young athlete and in 1996 he scored his first +7000 score with great results in the jumping events. His best international result he had in 1997, when he placed 4th at the European Junior Championships. After the 1997 season Thomas left Austria to study and train at Kansas State University. In 1998 he couldnīt qualify for the NCAA championships, but came back to Austria to PR in Götzis. The 1999 season in the USA began with good indoor results, but he injured and couldnīt compete in the outdoor season. Now he still studies in Kansas, but because of continual problems with his achilles tendon he retired from competition sports.
