TEAM DECATHLON FROM TERNITZ 22.7.2000
Hannes Reiterer and his team organized a fine meeting. Four teams competed at this first team match - two from Ternitz and two from the OMV. OMV II was a Jedermannteam. Every athlete competed in three events, for the women the heptathlon table was used, for the men the Decathlon table. In the High Jump and Pole Vault each athlete had only 5 attempts for the whole event. The last event, the 1500 meters were performed as a relay. The only rule was, that every teammember must run at least for one time - but there was no limit how often and which distance each runner goes. So the tactic was very important. Of course I won´t publish the tactic of my team here - because I think the meeting will be take place next year again.
Erwin Reiterer used the meeting to test his shape for the Austrian Decathlon championships, where he want´s to try a comeback. His goal is to score 7000 points - he allready managed 2,04m in the High Jump this season, and showed good hurdles today. If he is healthy at the championships I think the score is possible.Here are the complete results:
