Over 1000 entries for the Vienna Jedermann-Zehnkampf:
The worlds biggest Jedermann-Decathlon
will take place on the 23./24. of June in Vienna. There are already over 1000 entries yet. There will also
be a great program around the Decathlon. On Thursday will be a javelin competition with Austrian
Record Holder Gregor Högler and Mick Hill from Great Britain. On Sunday, during the victory ceremonial
there might be a One Hour Decathlon with world class athletes.
The IAAF group will also have a field of some top international athletes. The Austrian Athletics
Association has not ratified this meeting as a qualifying chance for the Austrian Decathletes,
because one week later the European Cup for Decathlon is sheduled. So they are maybe afraid, that the athletes with a chance
for the Limit won´t start there because of the Jedermann-Decathlon.
This is not a fine move, because at this meeting are always good conditions for the athletes
(small group, good athletes, great audience), and at the European Cup the conditions are not good (large field of athletes).
