Jedermann Decathlon - Vienna 28./29.6.2002

The weather was better then on day 1, but it was still raining sometimes. Day two for IAAF Group II started at 2:20pm with the 110mH.

Eugenio Balanque was at the until half of the distance side by side with Hamdi Dhouibi, but then the athlete from Tunesia made a mistace, and crushed into the last hurdles.

In the Discus Eugenio had a good final attempt with 44,59m.

In the pole vault the speedy Hamdi Dhouibi cleared 5 Meters and was the best pole vaulter in the field.

For Johannes Kuenz the Decathlon ended at the Pile Vault, where he missed his opening height of 3,60m for three times.
The javelin started very late at 9:15 at the Cricket-Track, where no lights where avaible. But until the last throw still a bit twilight was there - good luck for the referees.
In the 1500m Eugenio ran the first rounds with Hamdi, but then he could not hold the pace, and some other athletes passed him also.
At the end Eugenio won the event with +400 points over Hamdi.

The best Athlete from Austria was Georg Frank.
