Invitation to Hexam Multievent Meeting 2002
I write to invite all decathletes with personal best in 2000 or 2001 of over
7200 points (heptathletes over 5200 points) to compete in Hexham, England on
15-16 June 2002.
Prize money (EUR500 approx £310) for meeting records (7658 and 5619) and for
event records (EUR100 approx £62)

The organisers will pay all travel and accommodation expenses for the event.
I realise this is on the same weekend as the Ratingen meeting and welcome
those who cannot qualify for Ratingen. It is also the final qualifying
opportunity for the England Commonwealth Games team. Selection for which
will be made on 17-18 June.
Reportedly, the Commonwealth Games selected athletes will not be considered
for European Cup team selection therefore both England and Great Britain
places will be up for grabs.
On the Friday evening there will also be a Street Pole Vault competition in
the Market Place and the decathletes/heptathletes will be invited as guests
of the organiser to attend the celebrations in the Town.
