At the Chamionships of Lower Austria Gerhard Zillner won his 6th Decathlontitle and set 2 new championship records in the shot and javelin.
The Chamionships of Vienna were won by a former national Junior Champion. Marian Maybach won in 1989 the Austrian Junior Championships in the 110H and long jump. After this season he quit with athletics to proceed his studies at the university. This season he tried a Jedermann Decathlon - his first competition after a break of 12 years - and decided to start at the Championships.
