Important Changes for Combinded Events Competitions in 2002
Accordung to the 43rd IAAF Congress in Edmonton 2001 the following
competition rules changed:
If a competitor is responsible for two false starts, he is disqualified now (instead of three).
In the field events the time for an attempt is now 1 minute (also for pole vault).
To recognise a Combined Event Record the wind reading for any event shall
not exceed plus 4 meters per second or (which is new now) the average velocity (based on the
sum of all three wind readings) does not exceed plus 2 meters per second.
