Sebrle came from South Africa with a smile

PRAHA: Decathlon world record holder Roman Sebrle came back today from his south african training camp with a smile and at Prague Airport a lot of reporters were waiting on him. His stay in Potchefstroom was longer by more than one week because of his injury. As widely publicised he was hit by a javelin and wounded. He needed 11 stitches, but already 4 days afterwards he started with the training and finished the camp in full speed. „We had a good flight, everything went well also with my training. There have been so many reporters today at the airport, maybe more when I would be again olympic champion,“ he smiled. He continues in his plan, looking for some competitions in next days with the aim to try to defend his heptathlon title in Birmingham.

Isaac Songok first time ever indoors

DUSSELDORF: Tommorrow´s PSD Bank indoor Meeting in Dusseldorf has in its second version already an EAA Permit status. Meeting manager Marc Osenberg (mainly active in Pole Vault area) has been able to put together some very interesting fields. Internationally seen the highlight should be the 60 m hurdles race with world record holder and olympic champion Liu Xiang who makes his second german stop after Stuttgart (third will be on Sunday in Karlsruhe). This time without Cuban Dayron Robles. Kenyan running star Isaac Songok is another big name, he will have his first ever indoor competition at 3000 m race. „I am excited what I will run. I had some training in recent days in Germany. I am not expecting anything fast, maybe around 7:45,“ said Songok who has other 3000 m races planned for Karlsruhe and Stockholm. He is missing this year the cross-country in order to prepare for Osaka and also there is no more a milers distance at the CC champs. High quality 1500 m is headed by another strong Kenyan Augustin Choge (also indoor debut) who was able to win some Golden Leagues last season. Choge has in plan one more race than Songok, he is going to run 2000 m in Clermont-Ferrand, 3000 m in Birmingham and 1500 m in Stockholm.

World leader Olosuji Fasuba from Nigeria is in the start list too at 60 metres. Pole Vault is also strong, but the local heroes might be already little bit tired. At 60 m Hurdles for women the field will be joined by Danielle Carruthers who ran under 8 seconds at Millrose Games. World 800 m leader Tatyana Petlyuk from Ukraine will face again European Champion Olga Kotlyarova from Russia (only 4th in Stuttgart), Jolanda Ceplak will not be running and wants to compete on Friday in Leipzig. Men´s shot put with American Dan Taylor will be as interesting as the only international women triple jump in the season with top four from current world indoor list. Meeting will be live transmitted by Eurosport and you can also bet for 9 event winners at www.athleticbet.com
