TRINEC, Jan 25: Another jump-off was the highlight of third leg of Moravia Daylong Tour. The jumpers were clearly tired in the third leg, because most of them witnessed in Czech Republic difficult weather changes. They arrived in mild climate, then strong winds came and at the end in Trinec lot of snow. The magic barier was 225 as most of the jumpers very closely but missed that height. In total 24 unsuccesfull jumps at 225 were something special. Only Ukrainian Viktor Shapoval showed no tiredness and went over at first. Afterwards he was joined by Cuban Victor Moya, Tomas Janku passed that bar. At 228 Shapoval went over at first and that was his great personal best. Janku joined him and Moya had again very close misses. Next height 231 and only Shapoval tried as Janku passed. Ukrainian was already very tired, but he was not aware what is still before him. Janku had again close misses at 233 and a jump-off came already for the second time. But in Trinec it was not so easy as in Ostrava. They started the jump-off at 231 and nobody was succesfull, the same happened at 229 and 227. As the bar went down to 225 both jumped! Of course 227 was the next and Shapoval closely missed and Janku clearly made it. FInally the dramatic evening was over. „It was only thank to great public. I was so tired,“ said Janku who wants to enjoy his season and plans lot of competitions. Shapoval was over the moon with new best and also because of the fact that he beat many high quality jumpers.

Janku was also clear winner of the tour and got all bonuses.

In the women section also third competition brought a third winner. It was a day of Asian Games winner Marina Aitova from Kazakhstan. She went over all heights at first including equalling her indoor best of 193 cm. She then tried a new meet record of 195 and was not very far. But she was not alone at this heighth. Helsinki bronze medallist Emma Green was also jumping in excellent mood. She saved her competition at 190 with third try and then full of energy went over 193 at first. And she also was not far away from 195 and it is only matter of time when she will do it. Winner of second leg local hero Romana Dubnova had close misses at 193 and finished third. Also Canadian jumper Nicole Forrester jumped well having very close misses at 190 cm. Far from her first outing in Czech Republic last Saturday in Hustopeče (194) was Yekaterina Kuntsevich from Russia as she did only 186. With this result she lost her overall leading position to Aitova. Kazakh jumper got special bonus 500 dollars for first place from one of local sponsors, then official prize money 1000 for first place and another 1000 for overall win. „This series were like a highlight of the indoor season for me. We do not have any championships and I prepared special for this. I wanted to win the tour,“ said Aitova. Sweden´s Green getting advice from her coach Yannick Tregaro who was also in the hall and she was also satisfied: „In the first competition in Ostrava I was tired, here I was in far better mood.
