Charfreitag goes world leading

LUBBOCK (USA): Slovak weight throw european best holder Libor Charfreitag achieved at Fridays Wes Kittley Invitational new seasonal best 24.71 m. It is tenth best result of all-time, in the top ten are only world best holder Lance Deal with five marks and Chafreitag with another five. He had series of: 23.63-24.71-f-f. „I am really satisfied because in comparison to 2003 or 2005 I did only six trainings with the weight since October. I am fully concentrated on hammer. Maybe I will do one more indoor competition this winter, but I will see after consulting with my coach Dave Wollman,“ said Charfreitag.

Hoffa 21.31 in Germany

NORDHAUSEN (GER): Special shot put meeting in Nordhausen, Germany was a big show of world indoor champion Reese Hoffa from USA. In second and third throws he achieved world class marks of 21.25 and 21.31 m. These are currently bests indoors in the world and also in the 7th annual of the event a new meet record (previous 21.14 by Joachim Olsen, Denmark). „I did not know where I am concerning the results possibility so I must be satisfied with the outcome,“ said Hoffa for german web www.leichtathletik.de. Mayr-Krifka is back

WIEN (AUT): Austrian former European Indoor medallist Karin Mayr-Krifka is back after maternity break. She was second at a 60 m race at Fridays S-Versicherung international meet in Dusika Hall. She was second at 60 m with 7.62 only very closely behind czech junior Katerina Cechova who also achieved 7.62. But Mayr-Krifka achieved the best time overall with 7.59 in heats. Young Cechova won afterwards 200 m in 24.39. Austrian Clemens Zellner was the best at 200 m with 21.37. Slovak triple jumper Jaroslav Dobrovodsky first time in his life jumped 16 metres indoor, exactly 16.00m. Irina Beskrovnaja from Slovakia was the best in women contest with 13.27 m.
